FAQ

We are doing a Relief Society lesson on scripture journals, do you have any pointers and do you give discounts on bulk orders?
+

Yes and yes! If you email me just before your event I can send you a 20% discount code (they change frequently). You will not need to order in one bulk order, you can pass the code out to the sisters who can then order on their own.
As for pointers. If you click on “scripture study tips” there are various topics that you can look through. Feel free to make a Powerpoint using my images and descriptions.

I have a business and would like to advertise on your site.
+

Innovation Simple’s marketing team is currently taking ahold of this part of my site. I can put you into contact with them. However, I will only accept businesses and advertisements that are appropriate for my site.

Are you going to come up with marking guides for all of the scriptures?
+

I get asked this quite often, and my answer is “probably not”. My marking guides are meant to help you find new ways to mark your scriptures and after enough practice, you can take what you have learned and run with it on your own. I invite you to challenge everything I put in every guide and see if there is something better for you to write in your scriptures other than what I suggest.

Do you have suggestions on how I can successfully start and keep a scripture journal?
+

Yes! I have designed these journals to help you dig in to your scriptures and help you study and record what you are learning. The template should help you know how to get started. Also – just dive in! It is ok if your handwriting isn’t perfect (something I hear a lot of concerns about) or if you don’t fill up an entire page. The learning is in the doing and the more you write in your journal the better you will become at it. As you fill in multiple journals over the years you will be able to see the difference in your first one and the ones that follow. So just get started!

What kind of pens and pencils do you use to mark your scriptures?
+

I generally use scrapbooking pens that are acid free. My favorites are: Micron pens, Zig pens, and Martha Stewart pens (she has some really light colors that are great for underlining). I like the 05 size the best. When I don’t have those, I like a really good mechanical pencil, or a simple ball point pen

Do you have any of your products available in the Salt Lake area?
+

Yes. They are available at the Quilted Bear in Midvale.

How long will it take to get my order shipped to me?
+

Please see question #2. Create Space will give you the option for different speeds of shipping. The standard shipping typically takes about two weeks, however in my personal experience they usually arrive before that.

I have a question about an order I just put in at your store.
+

Thank you so much for placing an order with us! Due to my large volume of orders I have everything outsourced to a professional company. They handle all of the money, printing and shipping and do a much better job than I ever could! Please direct your questions to them and they will be happy to help you. Their website is: www.createspace.com

Do you speak at firesides, camps, youth conferences, etc.?
+

Thank you so much for considering me as a speaker for your ward or stake. I love to visit and speak around in various places and meet all you wonderful people. It has been a great dilemma for me to know how to answer this question because I am torn in my desire to be able to speak, and my other responsibilities that take so much time and energy. For now, my husband and I have decided that it is best for me to not do this, but please check back in the future. I will update it here when I feel like that is the right decision for us – which may be very soon.  The most common topic I am asked to speak on is “Scripture Study and Journals”, so check question #1 on how you can possibly set up the class yourselves.
