Scripture Mastery Key Phrase Quizzes- The Red Headed Hostess

I wanted to quickly show you something we just completed and got up on our download shop:

Book of Mormon Scripture Mastery Quizes!

This is a set of 15 quizzes for Book of Mormon Scripture Mastery.

*Note: The quizzes shown above are from the old 2013 program.  The NEW Doctrinal Mastery Quizzes for the Book of Mormon can be found HERE.

These are specifically for KEY PHRASES.  I really hope these help you teachers and save you tons of time while giving some well laid out quizzes to your kids.  (Please note my recommendations below on how to use tests in seminary).

Also – these could be great for a mutual activity.  These increase in difficulty and you could set up an activity where you put the youth in groups and they use the easy ones first.  You could call it Scripture Mastery Olympics and pair up activities with minute-to-win-it type games.

Here are some ideas on how to use these tests in the classroom:

  • There are 15 tests that increase in difficulty.  As a teacher you can determine which ones are best for your class and in what order.
  • You can determine how many points each test is worth according to your grading structure.  For example, you can have them worth full points (1 per question), or you can give 1 point for 5 or less right, 2 points for 6-9 right, and 3 points for all 10 right.
  • Some students may be apprehensive to have tests since they get them so often at school.  This can easily be handled if teachers help lighten the atmosphere by focusing on these as celebrations of what they have learned rather than tests on what they know.  You may want to allow them to retake the test as many times as they like in order to focus on the importance of learning the material over a typical “test” attitude.  When I gave tests like this I always emphasized that I am more concerned with them learning the material than I was with whether they knew it right at the moment of the test.

Ok – HERE is where you can find these tests.
