My Next Project Launch- The Red Headed Hostess

(This picture has nothing to do with this post… I just wanted to show my Hannah)

So, I have been working on a new project and I would love feedback from you!

By the way… thank you so much to all of you who have purchased my journals.  I have recently sold my 14,000th journal  and that is so much more than I ever dreamed!   These journal sales have allowed me to improve this site and also to work on future projects to try and get great content and study aids out to people all over the world – so thank you!

And by the way… I am SUPER excited about this coming year and the plans I have for the Adult Doctrinal Guides.  I have big plans there to help and encourage you along with your studying and teaching of your family and/or classes.

So here it is…my next project:

I have been mulling this around for awhile now as I have been thinking about the following things:

1-  How can we get awesome, valuable clip art and great teaching visual aids out for you to use?

2-  How can we get the BEST talent to make them?

3-  How can I get some of my scripture study aids out to Saints world-wide?

So here we go…

My awesome website company is working on a store for me.  Specifically for PDFs.

My books will still be available.  And I won’t be putting them up on my PDF store for now – so if you have recently purchased or plan to buy my journals – great, awesome!  I hope they truly help you in your studying.

Here is my question for you:

What type of things would you like to see available for you?  (Please be as general or as specific as you would like!)

What would you like from me? What clip art would you like to see? Etc…

There are truly endless options with a store like this, and I am already going on it… but I would like to know what YOU want.  What would help you teach your family, your church classes, your seminary class, or your individual studying?

By the way, these will be VERY reasonably priced.  I think you will be shocked.  But, in order to bring on great talent and maintain a store and a system that supports this, there will be some cost.  But, again, I think you will be very happy with this…. seriously just you wait.

Here is what I won’t do…  🙂

– I won’t post lesson plans.  I will only post lesson aids.  I feel it is vital for us to pay the price individually and then I want to help you by offering you tools.

– I won’t do anything that is not pure doctrine or important principles.

Alright – fire away….  🙂

  1. I just wanted to say that I really miss your posts on Bible page titles. The last one I saw was up until the end of Esther. Have I missed any? I hope not. Thanks for all you do! I love your blog and journals!

    1. Hi Scott!
Any amount qualifies if it is for a mutual group. Please email me. Just click on the envelope under my picture up on the right of this page.
      Thanks!
      Shannon

  2. That sounds so exciting!

Since we have been encouraged to use the new youth curriculum, Come Follow Me, in our families; it would be great to have visuals to use for family home evenings with primary aged kids. These would go along with the topics studied for each month. I am thinking something like your Plan of Salvation visual you did, in color, and also in black and white. That would be awesome! (by the way, I was looking for a black and white version of your Plan of Salvation the other day and couldn’t find it, am I missing it somehow?)

Thank you SO much for sharing your talents with all of us! You are wonderful!

  3. For a minute there from your topic and i thought you’d be workin on another baby! lol it’d be a cute way of announcing it 😉 anywaysss…
Im looking for cute handouts/saying for lessons. another thing i think would be great is a handout of sorts to give the girls (in my case) before the months topics come up. so in january you give them a “cute” sheet of paper with the topics, scriptures, questions & activities for the month of february. that way it gives the girls some extra time to study up on the topics. some of our girls have limited time on the computer so to give them something ahead of time, to put in their scriptures, they can study it whenever they get the time. i dont believe you can put it all on one sheet so maybe small index size sheets, one catagory per index card?? we plan on ordering your 2013 journals but we’ll be keeping them at the church this time, our girls kept forgetting to bring theirs so it was kind of a waste of money last year, still sad about that 🙁 so they’ll need something for at home.
I am not bugged about paying at all! Stuff like this is worth it! And I cant wait to see what your coming up with!!! THANK YOU soooo much for doing all that you do!! Merry Christmas 🙂

  4. I honestly love love love everything on your site! I have used almost all your reaching/study helps you have posted. I love the page titles, have the prayer book for my little kids, the paper dolls, the plan of salvation map. Everything. I live when you post study helps for the scriptures or visual aids and quotes. Thank you so much for all you do and for sharing!

  5. My oldest just turned 7 and we’ve been thinking about baptism preparation. I want to make sure she understands the basic principles of the gospel (faith, repentance, baptism, gift of the Holy Ghost, Plan of Salvation, etc.) before she is baptized. Anything to aid in that endeavor would be amazing!
    Thank you!

  6. I would love step by step clip art of scripture stories for use in primary talks, family home evening, and scripture study. For example, I love how the church’s scripture readers have pictures for every couple of sentences. Something like that, but something that is easy to print and share in front of large groups while reading the story.

  7. Anything to help with Primary. I want to concentrate on gospel stories but the little ones have a hard time with long scripture passages and the simplified versions … well, they just don’t take very long to read. Or talk about, even, with small classes of little ones. We always have so much time. So maybe clip art or handouts that they could use to retell the stories, even if they can’t read?

  8. I wish I could print out your Chapter Study Journal pages. I just want to put your pages into a loose leaf binder instead of a hardbound book so I can insert more later.

    Thanks! You do amazing things!

  9. I love your website!! One thing I would probably add is a section for YM/YW that has things for them. Things for the youth?:)

  10. I wrote a few months ago and told of my desire to know where to START for older adults. As you wrote back you said that you had had several requests for that. As an older adult I realize that I have been very neglectful of my personal scripture study and don’t even understand the scriptures. I have made a personal commitment “to get started””. HELP!! Give sweet Hannah a kiss for me. She is adorable. Merry Christmas to you and your little family.

  11. FIRST – Your little Hannah is just adorable!!! Now, for the question at hand… As a Youth SS teacher and a new curriculum – I’d love to have access to visual aides, lesson planning forms/format, lesson handouts, etc… I’m excited about the curriculum! Thank you for all you do!!!

  12. I would personally like to see an option for binders. One of the things I struggle with is that when I really get going on a topic, I need more pages than the journals have. I would like to be able to add extra pages for notes, quotes and pondering, or for the ability to add stuff later on. I have both of the scripture journals, the New Testament for Seminary and the Names of Christ ones. I would also like to be able to access more examples and possibly download an entire page.

Sometimes I will take a specific topic ie revelation or all the ways God speaks to men, and then I will read the Book of Mormon cover to cover only looking for that topic. I will of course need several journals for those purposes, but would like to put it in just one binder so it is all together.

Thanks for offering these. Our empty nest family home evening group has used some of your ideas in our study.

  13. I have used everything you have posted…just about! I too would love to be able to print your House of Israel book. I’ve also bought your new journals. I think if you continue on as you have, I’ll be as happy as a pig in mud!
    :o)

  14. You have lots of idea suggestions already, and this may already be mentioned….black and white pictures (like coloring pages). Quote pics (like what is posted on Pinterest, etc, but in a printable format.
I’m planning FHE lesson topics for next year using Faith in God, Duty to God, the new youth curriculum, and the primary theme for starters…anything to assist with that would be great!

As already mentioned….page titles for the remaining bible books would be a huge addition! I gave my dtr a new set of scriptures for her bday (at her request–she’s been inactive for several years) and I’m printing your scripture study aids to give to her as well to help get her started. I will be ordering journals for her too in time….don’t want to overwhelm her!

  15. So i got a “come follow me” book for Christmas—- and I would like to complete it, but I am going to college (hopefully BYU) next year any advice on what to do to complete it when I’m out of yws?
Also, I have friends thinking of going on missions- have you considered missionary books for before and while you are on a mission. I have been myself pondering serving one.
Congrats on selling 14,000 books! wow that’s awesome!
I also like your House of Israel book- that would be nice to see published. Well, thats all I’ve got! (for now) Thank you!

  16. OH! and….. I am also the Laurel class president, and my sister is the beehive class president… what things can we do when most of the (at least 4/5’s) yw in our ward has completed their yw recognition award? and how can we motivate those who have not received theirs.

And as Laurel class president, and with this new come follow me program, will you be releasing any guides for yw to become leaders? Guides that will help us be leaders of lesson in which we might be expected to conduct?
    -Laura

  17. I love your site. I need to implement everything.
Just don’t know where to start.
So many topics – So much to learn – *sigh*

    My ideas are:
    Articles of Faith
    Faith in God
    Duty to God
Preach my Gospel (I have a 15 year old son I would like to prepare him for his mission in NOW 3 short years)
Your notes – like on Pride vs. Charity in PDF printable

    Thanks for sharing your talent.

  18. I’m currently searching for home school helps to teach my children the scriptures using the actual scripture and the scripture stories series, i.e. Book of Mormon Stories, New Testament Stories, ect. It would be really nice to find a cheap/ free curriculum of studying the scriptures for young children. My kids are 2 and almost 4 so getting into Preschool age. Thank you!

  19. I, too, would love to be able to print out your valuable journal pages. I know I’m going to run out of space and want to add more pages on each chapter/topic. I would happily purchase a PDF packet with all of your journal pages for printing.

  20. I will be using the come follow me study guide for my Sunday school class and would LOVE some gender neutral handouts. Pretty much anything to help with the new curriculum for Sunday school. I could use all the help I can get. This new curriculum stresses me out. I feel am way under qualified to be teaching my kids this way. I don’t have the knowledge base! I guess that’s why HF put this program together… So ill make the effort to learn! Thanks for anything you can offer! 🙂

  21. I actually have a request from a previous post. I can’t get the printout: “nicene creed and heavenly father quotes” to work. Do you have them in some other format that you could email me? Thanks!

  22. Primary music visual aides. It is such a bother to find them easily! Preferably not cartoonish, especially of the Savior, and no “bee” for the word “be”. If you were to refer to the primary outlines, and the childrens songbook, it would give a ton of helps.

  23. I actually miss the PDF quotes to put in our scriptures, you use to post occasionally. I’d love some ideas for studying conference talks, maybe some journal pages for that?

  24. I love all of the seminary and scriptural helps you’ve given. Please, please continue to produce them. We as teachers need all of the creativity and new ideas that we can get. You are amazing. Thank you for all you do and for your insights and wisdom.

  25. I think it would be really neat to put out maps for scriptures, such as geographical maps, maps of buildings or structures, and maps that show timelines, etc.! I really liked the map of the tabernacle we did in seminary, I know that those kinds of visual aids help me understand parts of the scriptures so much better!!

  26. I was introduced to your web site a year ago and find you a truly amazing daughter of our Father in Heaven and so very much appreciate all you do. I have just been called into Young Women’s after a little voice told me (in December) that I should buy and use your study guide for Standing in Holy Places – I did and it is a great help as I prepare my lessons.

I wanted to share an idea of what I have been working on for the last year. I used one of your study journals (with some personal modifications) and created a book on the Women in the Scriptures. I have just finished through the Book of Mormon and am adding the “negative” examples now as I think I can learn from them as well. Next will be the women of this dispensation including the wives of the Prophets, Relief Society Presidents, wives of the presidents of the United States, and women who have influenced my personal life. This has been an amazing adventure thanks to your journal ideas.

Thank you for all you do. I am excited to see your new project come out.

  27. I think it would be really nice to have a comprehensive book of all your scripture marking guides! They’re really useful and nice and have helped me better navigate my scriptures.
Another awesome project to do is to have a journal with different verses on every page (Deseret Book makes some like it, but your journals are so much cuter).
I can’t wait to see what your next project will be!
