Scripture Marking for the Book of Matthew: Sectionalizing

book of matthew

Sectionalizing is something I do in my scriptures all of the time.  It is so helpful for me to pick out major themes and doctrines that are being taught.  Sectionalizing  is when you draw lines in your scriptures to create “sections” or groupings scriptures that are talking about the same theme. For example: in the first section  you would draw a line above the first verse and then another line below the last verse.   And then you would write the given phrase in the margin between those 2 lines.   You can find an example here.

So here are the sections for the Book of Matthew:  sectionalizing

I just wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you put into sharing all of your ideas and thoughts about studying the scriptures. 6. I LOVE your sectionalizing posts. When I put these into my scriptures I usually think “Wait, what?” and then I have to stop and read the section. Definitely helps me understand what I’m reading, especially on days when I’m struggling.

  7. I just found your website their is so much on it, but I can’t stop looking at it. I’am not sure if you pay for everything on it or not. I was just looking at scripture marking for the book of Matthew: Sectionalizing. Do you purchase this if so how?

    1. Hi Donna!

That is free! If there is a link to a PDF directly on a post/article then it is available for free. If it is on the download store then there is a cost to it.

I hope you find many things that help you! 🙂

  8. Thank you so much for posting this. I have always written beside the scripture IF I find it is something that I want to remember but I never thought of doing it this way. I love this idea and since I have just purchased new scriptures to use to restudy the scriptures, I will definitely be using this method.
