The Most Delicious Ribs Ever- The Red Headed Hostess

Due to Father’s Day coming up this weekend…

I thought I would re-post my husband’s favorite man meal.
I don’t even know how many times I have made this for him.
Correction… we have made.  He is the king of the grill around here.
Here ya go…
My husband pointed at this pile of bones and said that this is proof that these were great ribs.  He loves ribs.  I think he dreams about them.
About a month ago we went out to dinner and he was craving ribs.  So he ordered them and got something back that reminded me of canned meat.  Canned ribs??  Can you imagine?   He left the restaraunt still craving ribs and extremely bugged.  Don’t mess with ribs man.
So I made him these.  And he has asked for them over and over.  And last night his family came by for dinner – and we made them again.
They are good and they are easy.  They just take time.

These are pork baby back ribs.
We like pork much more than beef – this same cooking technique does not get the same result with beef ribs – they won’t fall off the bone so easily.
Pick out your favorite BBQ sauce.  Famous Dave’s is great if you have it around your town – and if your man like’s a bit of heat – “Devil’s Spit” will get his attention.  Check out the picture on the bottle.  This is a conversation starter in your kitchen.  However – its not as hot as you might think – especially after you cook it.  Its much hotter straight out of the bottle.  So if he likes heat – this is your sauce.
Lay your rack out on the foil that you have sprayed with Pam.
Also what I haven’t shown you (because it isn’t a pretty sight) is me taking off the membrane on the back side of the ribs.  Underneath that is good meat – so take it off.  Just take a knife and dig in until you get a good hold and peel it right off.
Smother your ribs with the sauce
And wrap up tightly.  I double wrap.
Set your oven at 350 and bake for 2.5  to 3.5  hours.
2.5 hours is good.  3.5 is better if you don’t mind fighting your ribs as they are falling apart when you transfer them to the grill.  The low slow cooking is what makes them tender.
This is after they have been in the oven for a few hours.  They could be served right now – but they are missing the grilled flavor that ribs really need.
So apply another smothering of the sauce
And put them on the heated grill
10 to 15 minutes per side will get that yummy bbq sauce that may prompt your husband to say “you are my dream girl”.
My husband really did say that.  That is when I said “will you build me some new deck furniture?”

  4. We made these for Father’s Day. We used the Famous Dave’s Rich and Sassy sauce instead so the kids would eat them. They were fabulous!!!!
