It's tempting to view the story of Noah's ark as a familiar legend that our children will enjoy learning about.

But as you study and teach from these verses next week you will empathize deeply with the monumental task that Noah had been assigned. Amidst societal chaos, increasing wickedness, family tragedy and constant ridicule, Noah was tasked with saving the human race.

What can we learn from this faithful ancestor that will inspire us to build our own arks of safety? How will your children take these lessons into their hearts and call upon the example of Noah when they too face ridicule and wickedness?

We always include symbols so your family can find layers of meaning in the art.

And there is always an ART STUDY page that tells you what symbols to look for. It is just one more tool for you to use in your home.

I know many of you have noticed how much effort we put into our art in your kits. That is because we know that art will help you teach in a way that touches your child's heart.

Our artist, Heidi Carter often shares with us the thought and symbolism she adds to her art. We are amazed at the amount of effort she goes into to research to have things be accurate (she researches what types of plants would be there, the geography, what different colors symbolize, types of pottery, types of flowers that have symbolism, and lots of other details).

She also puts a lot of thought into the composition of the art, and the poses and emotions of the characters.

This made us realize that like us - this symbolism and detail are quite often missed.

Because of this, we wanted to let her have a space where she can share those details - and this will help all of us be better teachers with the aid of art.

It will also allow for that symbolism to help us find own impressions and insights.
