3. “The Commandments Keep Us Anchored and Safe” Analogy: Teach your Primary class how the commandments can keep them safe by comparing them to an anchor. We have included teaching suggestions along with visuals to help your Primary class make meaningful connections.
4. “The Commandments Keep Us Anchored” Class Activity: Each child will write down and share ways they can keep the commandments. As a class, they will combine their answers to create a paper chain (linking a boat illustration to a an anchor).
5. CTR Commandments “Go Fish”: This activity is designed to compliment the teaching section from the manual titled, “When We Choose the Right, We Feel Good.” Your class members will take turns “fishing” and answering scenario questions.
6. CTR Commandments Challenge: End your Primary lesson with this CTR Commandments challenge. This is a great teaching tool to send home with your class because it will encourage them to think about your lesson throughout the week. It is also a great way to get families and parents involved in learning the gospel at home.
7. Parent Note: For primary teachers teaching Primary 3 lesson 3, this note can be given to each child to take home and give to their parents. This note contains suggested questions the parent could ask and discuss as they continue the child’s learning in the home.
