Acts 15-18 and Study Aid | The Red Headed Hostess

Sorry for my absence all week…  school started.  Which means early mornings, late nights, and really lame dinners.

So… I have a new(ish) calling.  I am still in a little bit of withdrawal  from not being in Young Women – but I am getting used to it.

I am now the Gospel Doctrine teacher.  Which, must I say, I think is my destiny in life.  I have had this calling more than all of my other callings combined.

So, I decided that I could post my notes on this site to help aid you in your scripture study.

My intention is NOT to write other Gospel Doctrine teachers lessons – but to help you in your personal scripture study.

If you see things in my notes like “share experience in Indiana…” that is just a part of my notes and should be totally ignored.  Unless you live in Indiana, then you can wonder if I was talking about you.  🙂

Here is my first set of notes.

I am just posting it in Word and PDF.

  1. Love your site, I regularly come and visit. You have changed my view on scripture study! I tried to click on the link and only got code when I did.

  2. I tried to open it and it is just jibberish. Can I tell you that since starting using your five tips for scripture study I have had an awesome change. I love to study and find that it is hard to stop. Thank you so much for the tips and the ideas.

Also, quick question, do you have a study schedule? I am excited to study but finding a hard time getting to some things because the sunday school lesson this week took me three days to study for, now I need to study rs lesson, plus want a day for book of mormon etc. So do you have a plan like monday is for this lesson etc?

    thanks.

  3. Ahhh I just got released from YW too and THAT was the longest calling I have had. Oh my heart just broke and then they called me to PRIMARY! New adventures for sure!! Anyway I love all your posts…this one wouldn’t open correctly but I will check back later! Thanks for all your insight…

  4. LoVE that you are sharing your study/lesson notes, thank you so much! I know the pain of leaving a calling you adore, especially for one you’ve had before. I know each calling blesses our lives in just the way we need, but sometimes it’s just not easy to embrace that change.

What 5 study tips is Katie talking about? I haven’t found that, and I need all the tips I can get! Thanks for all you share.

  5. Love reading your notes and insights.
Checked the links…. the PDF works but the Word doc still comes up as gibberish.

THANK YOU for sharing! Have a blessed Sunday!

  6. Dang it!! We must be off, we had that lesson last week. I’m sure I will still enjoy the extra study. Thanks Shannon!

  7. Thanks! I am always inspired when I stop in! I think that YW is the hardest calling to leave and I’m sure the girls will miss you too! I know I will miss your lesson insights and cute handouts, but I’m already enjoying your knowledge and preparation for gospel doctrine – I know that it will help me gain more from the lessons.

  8. Love your notes. I would love to be in your class. I know the girls will miss you and I will miss your ideas for YW. But I will so enjoy going thru your Gospel Doctrine notes and pretending to be in your class each week.

  9. Thank you for including this, and congrats on your new calling! I’ve been in Primary for close to eternity, so maybe this will help in keeping up with the Gospel Doctrine lessons. I’m planning on studying this one tonight!

  10. You are truly amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your insight and knowledge of the Gospel. I consider myself so lucky to be able to read your thoughts and apply them in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (and I SO wish you were my gospel doctrine teacher!!!)
