This week’s study takes us into a time when the Church was facing real challenges—financial stress, rising apostasy, and personal uncertainty. Joseph Smith travels to Massachusetts in hopes of finding financial help for the Church, but instead he receives a reminder from the Lord to focus on things of eternal value, not worldly treasure.
In the years following the Kirtland Temple dedication, faith is tested. The Lord speaks directly to Thomas Marsh, urging him to stay faithful and support the growing missionary effort. We also study a powerful revelation given to David W. Patten, a beloved apostle who would give his life for the gospel. And in section 113, the Lord reveals beautiful insights about Isaiah 11, a passage Moroni once shared with Joseph.
This week is a reminder that even when plans don’t unfold as expected, the Lord is still guiding, still speaking, and still calling His people forward.

Engage Youth and Primary with Powerful, Interactive Lessons
