One thing that has made the Doctrine and Covenants One thing that has made the Doctrine and Covenants so valuable to my family, and unique to other scripture, is that we get to see more than just the main prophets - we get to see the regular people involved in the building of God's kingdom.

We get to see the Lord tutor them, rebuke them, lift them, and explain what he expects of them. We can see how he teaches them to become stronger and more like Him.

We can learn what the Lord expects of us by learning what he expected of them.

Some will listen and stay true until the end. Some will not, but come back later. And a few will leave but never deny what they had witnessed. We can learn from all of them - every story can help us and our families become better disciples ourselves.

Next week you will get to study D&C 25, the Lord's revelation to Emma. Be ready for what that section will do to you - it is a life-changing revelation and President Nelson promised great blessings to those who will seriously study it. I can't wait for next week and will be cheering you on the whole week and will be studying it again with you. The teachings in that section have blessed my life immeasurably.

Then in three weeks you will learn about Parley P. Pratt - I want my children to consider him a personal hero. These church history stories are courage-building, faith-teaching, wonder-filling stories for our families. They are some of the very best things to fill our children's hearts and minds with.

Who have been your favorite stories so far? What stories are you looking forward to? 💛💛💛
Surprise/giveaway boxes going out! And I am going Surprise/giveaway boxes going out! And I am going to choose another surprise box winner by selecting a comment from my last post! I just want to hear what your favorite thing in next week’s kit is. 💛
Zoom in to see the study and marking guide for kid Zoom in to see the study and marking guide for kids this week.💛 You can see that this week they will learn all about the official organization of the Church. It is a really important week!

There are a lot of fun thing this week too - and some things you might need to add to your grocery list

PIC 2: FUN FAMILY GAME
*As your family learns about the “rise of the church,” there is this fun trivia game where your family will earn marshmallows and then see who can build the tallest tower.

🛒So you will want to grab mini marshmallows and toothpicks if you do not have any in your kitchen.

PIC 3: STUDY PAGES
*We always say that the study pages are the most important part of our weekly kits. They help you understand the background to each section, understand the verses, gives suggested discussion questions, and quotes from prophets and apostles.

Then once you understand the scriptures and background, you can determine what is most important for your children to learn.

PICS 4-6: 1800 LOG HOMES
*Every week there is an 1800 activity where your family learns about life in the 1800s, which really helps bring the scripture stories alive and helps our children learn what life was like for their ancestors. This week they will learn about 1800 log homes and then they can make one out of pretzels.

🛒You will want some pretzel rods, frosting, pretzel sticks, graham crackers, and anything else (see my last post for ideas).

PICS 7-8: NEW BUSY BOOKS FOR TODDLERS
*We are now adding “busy book” pages for your toddlers. Most weeks there will be at least one page you can add to a growing book of activities to help teach your toddler important gospel principles.

This way your lesson prep efforts each week can be used over and over again!

PIC 9-10: HELPS FOR TEENS
* Here are a couple of activities included for your teens this week - but there are more than these.

——

If you are a subscriber, everything you see in the pics are in your D&C 20-22 kit.

If you are not yet a subscriber, you can use the code "50off" for 50% off of your first month.
Here is a quick heads up for some things you might Here is a quick heads up for some things you might want to add to your grocery order for the 1800 activity next week.

Your children will be learning about 1800 log homes - the kind that the Whitmers and the Smiths lived in. They will learn about how the homes were built and the basic components of these homes.

For a fun activity your children can build their own log home using pretzel rods, frosting, graham crackers, cereal, etc.

Here are a few fun ideas:

- They can build a roof or leave the roof off and design the inside with a fireplace, table, chairs, etc. They can make their own or use doll furniture you might have.

- You could get some chocolate candy rocks (Amazon has some), and they could build a fireplace or chimney with them.

- If they design the inside, they could try to build a loft with a ladder, which is where children often slept.

- Show some episodes of "Little House on the Prairie" and have your children specifically look at how the log home was designed.

GROCERY ITEMS you may want:

- Pretzel rods (for the logs)
- Pretzel sticks (the straight but small pretzels that can be used to make a door, frame a window, make furniture)
- Frosting
- Cereal for roof (if you make a roof)
- Graham crackers (to make doors, windows, furniture - think of it like edible plywood)
- Rock candy
- Whatever else you want!

Have fun learning about (and making) log homes next week!
