King Saul and King David

The chapters for this week introduce Israel’s first kings and show the difference between outward success and true obedience. The people ask for a king, and Saul is chosen, but he repeatedly chooses his own way instead of fully following the Lord. Because of this, the Lord calls David, a young shepherd with a faithful heart, to be the next king. These chapters teach that God values obedience and looks at the heart, inviting us to trust Him and follow Him sincerely.
