  1. Well for conference weekend we are staying home and watching conference. In order to keep alert…I find it best to keep my hands busy…usually with a table full of scrap booking supplies…or a fun puzzle…my girls make lots of melting bead projects while watching too. I always have a notebook next to me…ready to jot down what really inspires me

  2. I totally want to try the Not So Spooky Oreo Bats, Candy Corn Sugar Cookies & Skeleton Gingerbread Men before my family Halloween Party. Love their recipes!

  3. We’ll be putting up our conference tent tomorrow morning. Got my house clean and treats ready. I’ve printed our packets- can’t wait!

  4. I want to try the Apple Cider Spice doughnuts- oh my. I love their recipes- the multi grain bread is SO good!

  9. We are travelling a few hours south to go visit with our college and married kids and see our first and only {thus far} grandbaby. We will spend the entire weekend eating {Canadian Thanksgiving} and watch Conference {all the sessions} on our Son in law’s large living room wall via a projector. We can’t WAIT to all be together again. {10 of us} It’s been a long time.

  11. I just wrote a post on the blog, Latter-day Homeschoolers, about our Conference traditions. Our favorites are Conference Baskets, watching in blanket tents, and a Conference Wall of topics. We LOVE General Conference in our family. My kids look forward to it like Christmas!

  12. I am working all day today, and cleaning my Mom’s house tonight so that she can enjoy her conference weekend. But I’m greatful that Sunday is free to renew my strenth. My 9-year old will snuggle next to me and watch conference. We’ve never done the candy and games thing. Just love and examples.

  17. I just hopped over to the Best Bites site and since I’ve been in a soup and stew mood lately the Chipotle Chocolate Chili really looks appealing to me.

  18. We watch Conference together at home. There’s Conference Bingo for the morning sessions and a similar activity for the afternoon sessions. Everyone cuddles up in their blankets and take notes in their journals. I love that my kiddos are excited for Conference.

  19. We are just going to watch the Saturday session snuggled up as a family. Sunday we are going to Grandma’s house for dinner!

  20. For General Conference this weekend, we are watching the sessions – Saturday at home and Sunday at the church. We will have a potluck between sessions at the church. I am envying my husband who is on a business trip and gets to watch at his hotel in peace and quiet without trying to quiet 8 children. :-p

  21. We are doing…NOTHING! Honestly, we are on the go ALL the time. I’ve tried doing all the activities to make GC “fun” but it really was just more work. Now, we just cuddle on the couch, eat Subway, and ENJOY!!!!

  23. I am staying home with my husband and two (maybe three) sons( and maybe my future daughter in law) and we are watching all the sessions both Saturday and Sunday from home, and enjoying our traditional
    General Conference blueberry muffins and other goodies.. !

  24. It’s Thanksgiving weekend in Canada…..so aside from General Conference and cleaning the church building inbetween sessions today, we are having a great family Thanksgiving dinner with my parents and most of my siblings 🙂 Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!

  25. Ooh, they have this recipe for Roasted Vegetable Panini with Cilantro Lime Dressing that sounds super yummy right now! Haven’t tried it yet!

  26. I have a 2 & 4 year old, so I have prepared some (hopefully) quiet activities to keep them busy while we listen to conference. I just pray that it goes better than last year. I hardly heard a word and went crazy trying to keep them happy.

  27. How to choose just one recipe to try?! How about I tell you some that I already love? The Brazilian Lemonade is amazing and the baked creamy chicken taquitos are so yummy! I also love their multigrain bread, peppermint bark rice krispie treats, and the easy pumpkin crumble.

  32. We are listening to conference as a family with our son that is starting to be active in church again. We are doing Conference bingo (even though we are all adults). Fun, fun, fun! Thanks for the bingo game.

  33. We have conference next week, as we live in Australia. But we’ll be going to our chapel and watching it on the big screen. But I will listen to conference during the week on our computer, and then get it all reinforced when we watch it next weekend.

  41. for conference this year, we decided to stay home and watch it in our pjs. we had the kids take notes too, it was nice reading through their notes after conference 🙂

  42. I have not used this recipe book, I I would love the idea of using and eating things in their season. It seems that would be a healthier and a more natural way to eat.

  43. I want to make the creamy corn chowder. My mother would make corn chowder when I was a child. I loved it but have not made it. I going to made it now.

  44. We’ll be staying home for Conference. We have yummy treats, lots of snuggle quilts, and we can’t wait to hear what the leaders have to say!

  45. For General Conference we stayed home in our comfy warm clothes and watched it on BYU channel. We invited some dear friends over to watch and enjoy with us.. I love listening to the talks!! I always gain answers to prayers and needed inspiration.

Today we watched the morning session, I helped my hubby in the afternoon, went to the baptism of a sweet 14 year-old girl after the afternoon session, younger 3 kids and I went grocery shopping and pizza at Costco, oldest son and hubby went to Priesthood session. Tonight I’m making pumpkin muffins and cinnamon rolls to go with conference casserole and fruit in the morning when some less active friends come over to watch conference with us.

  47. I’d love to try the lemon garlic herb rubbed chicken but it was really hard to decide because I’m super hungry right now!!! Lol!!

  49. My husband has been working out of town for two weeks. I drove four hours to spend conference weekend with him. We are watching conference in our fifth wheel together,

    Made caramel apples for the families of the ladies I visit teach; making conference crapes; pumpkin puree; and pumpkin butter–enjoying the fall weather finally here.

  54. We’ll see General Conference next weekend, as we’re ahead of you guys. In the meantime, we’ll be busy watching the comments and tweets. It’s fun to read all the quotes and the news (hello younger missionaries!).

  55. I organized all my recipes – the ones where I have printed off, torn out, written down stacks of miscellaneous recipes are all now in 1 very organized binder. I love it. It was a great project to keep me awake during conference.

  56. I really want to dry the Crispy Coconut Chicken Fingers. We have a restaurant here locally that has really yummy coconut chicken and I would love to make it at home.

  57. Hanging out with my husband and two little kiddies. We have lots of conference activities for the 3-year-old, so hopefully my husband and I will catch most of it. 🙂

  58. We are actually having OBB’s slow-cooker french dip sandwiches tonight. I LOVE all their recipes. I really want to try their honey caramel apples, but I’m currently dairy-free for my little girly who’s allergic to milk, so those caramel apples will have to wait. 🙂

  59. For conference weekend we went to a soccer game on Saturday but listened to conference on a little radio plugged into our ear. Sunday we stayed home in our pajamas and watched the Sunday session. They were all so good.

  60. I am hosting a little preschool Halloween party, so their Halloween food post is so helpful and fun! I’ll be making some of that stuff for sure.

  61. We always have Crapes for breakfast and then Ham for lunch on Conference Sunday. My kids look forward to it every Conference.

  62. dangit!!! I hadn’t gotten on the computer all weekend and now have missed my chance to win this aweseomely, awesome cook book. Anywho, I just figured I wiould still leave a comment and let you know what we did this weekend. A somewhat “quiet” weekend, other than the kids fighting through conference, but found a new something to keep them entertained…..building a LEGO temple. It worked wonders!! Will definitely try that again next year.

    Liked Best Bites FB page and yours too (awhile ago!!). Hope you had a most fantastic General Conf. weekend too and really, really wish I lived in UT to go the the quilted bear (haven’t been there in YEARS!!) to get your cool scripture journals.
