#LIGHTtheWORLD printables by The Red Headed Hostess (FREE)

For this (2016) Christmas, Mormon.org has released the #LIGHTtheWORLD Christmas campaign.  Through this campaign, we are invited to do things that Jesus Christ also did as He served others, and by so doing we will each #LIGHTtheWORLD and help achieve the charge Christ gave His disciples when He proclaimed “Ye are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).

Starting on December 1st, there will be a worldwide day of service, and then for 24 days following, Mormon.org has identified 24 more Christ-like behaviors (each behavior is assigned a day), and we are given suggestions of various things we can do each day to emulate that Christ-like behavior.  Imagine how we this will impact our Christmas season as we seek to be like Christ each day in December!

We, at The Red Headed Hostess, have made the following (FREE) items to help you, your family, or those you teach #LIGHTtheWORLD this Christmas.  Be sure to share your experiences on your social media accounts and use the hashtag #LIGHTtheWORLD.

(Be sure to check out these other free kits made by other designers HERE.  You can easily use multiple kits to help your family #LIGHTtheWorld together!)

Perfect for groups!  Give each person a 25-day mini journal and invite them to record what they did each day as they #LIGHTtheWORLD.

Each day has an illustration and explanation of one of Christ’s behaviors, with ideas of things they can do.

Give with a .99 cent chocolate advent calendar (found at many grocery stores) and explain that they can have a chocolate each time they write in their journal!

This mini journal prints four days per page.

This is just like the mini journal except it prints a full page for every day.  This is perfect for individuals or for families who will fill out each page together!

#LIGHTtheWORLD posters by The Red Headed Hostess

This set of posters has an illustration of each of the 25 Christ-like behaviors we can emulate as we #LIGHTtheWORLD.

Sit down with your family at the beginning of the month and make a list on the back of each poster of things you can do as a family, or individually, to emulate that behavior.  Then each day, hang that day’s poster on your fridge or set in a photo easel somewhere in the heart of your home.    Have each person record what they did that day on the back of the poster.

#LIGHTtheWORLD ornaments by The Red Headed Hostess

Fill your tree with ornaments as you and your family #LIGHTtheWORLD.  Print onto white cardstock, cut out, tape on a string, and then hang these ornaments on your tree whenever someone does one of these Christ-like behaviors.

These ornaments would go perfectly with Neisha Sykes’ (Hang a Ribbon on the Moon) free printable ornament kit.  You can find out more about her kit HERE.

*NOTE: The terms of use on these files do allow you to take them to a printing service for your personal use.  You can print as many as you want and give your prints to whoever you want.  They are not to be used for commercial, or for-profit use.

  1. SO excited about these. I can’t wait to start this with my kids. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and being willing to provide this for free. Also, I just ordered some of your study guides for my older boys and a family scripture journal. I think they will love them. So glad I came across your site.

  2. I am interested ornaments, posters, service progress. And service journal. How much would all of this cost. Trying to strengthen my testimony. And i know this would really help. I dont have a computer to print theses at home. But i do go to the library sometimes. Thanks for posting this i will let my friends know about this.

  3. I had already planned on giving my seminary kids a countdown candle with the Church’s calendar, but I LOVE these ideas too. I’m going to incorporate them too. Thank you so much for everything you do to make my calling a little bit easier!

  4. These are amazing resources! Thank you so much for making this challenge easier to do with my family – so we can focus on what is most meaningful at Christmas. This is awesome! Thanks for sharing!

  5. Thank you!! 😀 I’m so excited for the #lighttheworld but these little ornaments help make it more friendly for the youngest of saints! My goal is every day to take a picture of them doing the service for the day then glue it on the back of the paper ornament. Once there is a picture on the back of all of them, I’m going to laminate and make it into a book so they can remember! Thank you!!!

  6. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this SO MUCH! Thank you for sharing your talents with all! I am helping to organize our little branch Christmas party this year and of course our these will be Light the World. This year’s Christmas initiative is so timely and you creations are exactly what I am NOT skilled enough to make myself.

  7. Thank you so very much for sharing these beautiful Light the World printables and journals. They are beautiful! I will be printing them off for my family and also to give to my husband’s home teaching families and my visiting teaching sisters.

  8. Wow! These are SO amazing! I was already so excited to #lighttheworld but you ladies have made it even more exciting. This is going to be so amazing for my family! Thank you SO much!!!!

  9. Thank you so much for these printables! I put together the mini journals for my YW and they are loving them! Instead of book rings I used mini zip ties and they worked perfectly!

  10. I love the printable for #Light the World. I would have liked the mini journal service ideas to have been in black to make it easier to read but the Young Women in my ward were thrilled to receive them. Thank you for the time and effort you put in to creating these. They are greatly appreciated!

  11. THANK YOU!!!! I am using the ornaments as table decor for the ward Christmas party. I will have a few ornaments on each table for people to read (and probably take home if they like). I LOVE the light the world theme so we wanted to use that for decorations.
