Pharaoh’s question wasn’t just resistance. It rev Pharaoh’s question wasn’t just resistance.

It revealed how he saw the world…
who had power,
who gave life,
who he answered to.

So the Lord didn’t just tell him.

He showed him.

And not all at once…
but step by step,
through everything Egypt depended on.

“Let my people go, that they may serve me…” (Exodus 7:16)

Because this was never just about leaving.

It was about who Israel would belong to—
and who they would serve.

This week in Come, Follow Me we’re in Exodus 7–13. This week in Come, Follow Me we’re in Exodus 7–13.

This is the part of the story where everything changes.

Pharaoh has hardened his heart.
The plagues unfold one after another.
And finally, the Lord prepares a way for His people to be delivered.

But it doesn’t look like what you might expect.

Each household is asked to act.
To choose.
To mark their doorposts with the blood of a lamb.

Not as a symbol alone—
but as an act of faith.

Something personal.

And in that moment, the Lord makes a promise:

“When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” (Exodus 12:13)

It’s a story about deliverance. But not just from Egypt.

It points forward—clearly—to Jesus Christ.

The Lamb.
The One whose sacrifice doesn’t just mark a door,
but reaches into our lives in a way that is meant to be received… and lived.

Elder Neal A. Maxwell taught:

“Real, personal sacrifice never was placing an animal on the altar. Instead, it is a willingness to put the animal in us upon the altar and letting it be consumed.”

That’s what begins to come into focus here.

Not just what God asks of them—
but what it means to truly follow Him.

This weekend, we also had the chance to sustain a new prophet.

And there’s something about studying Moses at the same time that feels fitting.

God has always led His people through prophets.
Not because the path is easy—
but because He is leading them somewhere.

As you study this week, you might consider:

🐑 Is there anything I’m being asked to let go of… or place on the altar?
