Did you know that In Hebrew the word “psalm” means “to praise, or to shine”? Next week your heart will want to sing in praise to the Lord as we study the beautiful poems, hymns and prayers from the Old Testament.

These psalms give us a glimpse into the hearts of people long ago who loved the Lord and wanted to express that love through music and word. You will feel of their faith and see that their hearts are not too different from ours. The atonement, the majesty of God's creations and the Lord's unfailing love for us are all themes we will get to explore next week.

Here are some of my favorites in next week's kit:

- You and your children can all have a go at creating your own psalm with this Build Your Own Psalm activity guide. It will work for any age and you'll have so much fun filling in the blanks with your own descriptions.

- The watercolor activity is great if you or your child like to be creative. Use this black and white version of Heidi's art to create something beautiful. As you paint you could think about the Lord being like a shepherd. You'll just need watercolors, paintbrushes and paper towels. Painter's tape and a fine black marker are optional.

- To help your children understand and know that Jesus loves them, watches over them and protects them, try this picture frame craft. You'll just need to print, color and cut out the shepherd art then stick it around the edge of a frame with a picture of your child in.

I love that the Lord used Job as an example to ins

I love that the Lord used Job as an example to inspire Joseph Smith in one of his darkest hours. After studying the story of Job again this week, he will definitely hold a permanent place in my gallery of stories too.

When my children are facing dark times or deep trials, I want them to remember Job and know that struggling with sorrow is part of life, but that what matters is whether we choose to keep our faith and trust in the Lord.

If you haven't had much time this week to talk about Job with your children, don't worry! Today would be a great time to listen to the summer story of Job. You can simply listen or you can use the activity packet that goes along with it.

And don't forget about the gallery of stories reward system in the bonus files! You can find the picture of Job in there and after listening to the story, draw or write on the back of the picture to help your children remember the faith of Job.
