Zion’s Camp and the Test of Obedience
In these sections, the Lord provides direction for His growing Church. He outlines the roles of the high council and begins preparing for the Quorum of the Twelve. As the Saints continue to suffer from being driven out of Zion, the Lord commands the dissolution of the United Firm—a group created to support the Church’s temporal needs—and promises that the faithful will one day return to their lands.
At the same time, Zion’s Camp marches toward Missouri, hoping to help the Saints reclaim their homes. But instead of battle, the Lord commands peace. He teaches that spiritual preparation must come before deliverance—and that His work moves forward in His way and in His time.
