Hope After Death
In these sacred visions, two prophets—Joseph Smith and Joseph F. Smith—are shown powerful glimpses into the spirit world. In 1836, Joseph Smith saw a vision in the Kirtland Temple, where he marveled to see his brother Alvin in the celestial kingdom, despite not being baptized in mortality. This revelation brought new light about salvation and the afterlife.
Decades later, in 1918, amid personal loss, a world war, and a global pandemic, President Joseph F. Smith received a comforting revelation about the redemption of the dead. He saw how the Lord’s work continues beyond the veil and how the gospel reaches those who never had the chance to hear it in this life.
