Covenant Motherhood by Stephanie Dibb Sorenson

Covenant Motherhood by Stephanie Dibb Sorenson

I cannot wait to get my hands on this book!   The more I read about this – the more I feel an urgency to read it – and the reviews are fantastic!

Here is a description of this book:

Even the most devoted mom can feel overwhelmed and discouraged in the daily trenches of family service. But she can find power in her seemingly endless and ordinary tasks when she sees how they symbolize her covenant relationship with Jesus Christ. In this insightful exploration of domestic life, Stephanie Dibb Sorensen shows how everything a mother does, from folding laundry and washing dishes to refereeing arguments and taking temperatures, is designed to bear record of the Savior’s atoning mission. Through scriptural exploration and personal experience, she illustrates how the ongoing chaos of an active home enables a mother to develop the Lord’s attributes as a creator, teacher, healer, provider, and cleanser—thus giving her the opportunity to do for her family, on a smaller scale, what Christ does for the human family.

I think this is going on my wish-list for Mother’s Day.

Oh… and the winner will get a signed copy!

Stephanie also blogs at Diapersanddivinity.com

The second prize today is:

Print your own Salt Lake Temple

A professional 8 1/2 x 11  vintage

These are by Janae Bingham at Memories by Janae.

I have one of her prints in Hannah’s room – and I LOVE it!  I have also given framed prints for wedding and Christmas gifts, and they are absolutely beautiful!  She is a “go to” place for me.

And the Third set of giveaway prizes today ….

Downloads from my Download Shop!

The winner will get the following files from my download store:

This is a 14 page study packet on PERSONAL REVELATION!

14 Page Personal Revelation Study Packet!

This package includes the following:

Scripture Boxes:  4 pages of scripture boxes.  Each page has 12 boxes with one scripture in each box.  As you study you can write what each scripture teaches you about personal revelation, so you can compare and make connections easily.  There is also a 5th page of boxes that are blank so you can add more scriptures to your studies.  You can also use this blank page with your family and class and fill it in with the scriptures you decide to use in your lesson.

Candle of the Lord (study template):  This is a classic talk given in 1982 by President Boyd K. Packer about the Spirit and personal revelation.  You can easily find this talk by searching online.  This 3 page template will help you study and record the important messages found in this talk.
4 Roles of the Holy Ghost and Personal Revelation Study Page:  As you study scriptures, talks, and quotes, you will run across these 4 important roles of the Holy Ghost:  Reveals Truth, Inspires and Enlightens, Comforter, Protects.   On this page you can take notes about each role as you learn about them.
Quotes about Personal Revelation:  This is a page specifically for quotes that you find about Personal Revelation.  Since this is a PDF, you can print this off as many times as you need (as you find more and more quotes).
Personal Insights about Personal Revelation:  Here you can write your thoughts, impressions, personal experiences and insights as you are studying.
Teaching Ideas for Future Lessons about Personal Revelation:  This is where you can jot down any and all teaching ideas that pop into your mind as you are studying.  You can also include personal notes about each of your children and how to teach them individually about this topic.  Use the internet and all the teaching resources you can find, and write down your favorite ideas here.  Then when it comes time to teach, you will have a great list to choose from!
Single Scripture Study:  As you are studying various scriptures about Personal Revelation, if you come to some that you really want to dive into – you can use this template to get started!  On this template you write the scripture out, write down definitions of words, search for doctrines and principles, write down quotes and insights from study guides, and your own thoughts and ideas as you are studying.  Then, if you need more room to write, just print off the “Personal Insights” template (above) and keep writing!
Single Phrase Study:  Have you noticed that often a General Conference talk is titled after a particular phrase from the scriptures?  Think how great it would be if, as we studied, we looked for phrases and wrote our own little talks! That is what this template is for!  As you study, search for a phrase and use this template to write about it.

You can see more of this packet here.

The winner will also get a download for the Plan of Salvation Clipart Package

Check out this Plan of Salvation Clipart Package! Love!

This is unique because there are teachings within the shapes that we typically use to teach the Plan of Salvation.

This is designed to help you teach the doctrine straight out of True to the Faith or lds.org.

So now… we are up to twelve prizes (and there are still more coming)

  1. My three favorite blogs:

Women Living Well (http://www/womenlivingwell.org)- A blog about being a Christian woman in a world where we are told that everything that we believe is right is wrong.

Life as Lou (http://www.leahkillian.com)- My friend’s blog that started off with craft tutorials but has grown into a wonderful spiritual journey dealing with deployments, marriage, family, miscarriages, health issues, and lately foster parenting.

Cute Girls Hairstyles (http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com)- a blog of hairstyle tutorials for little girls

  2. My three favorite blogs are:
-Chocolate on My Cranium http://chocolateonmycranium.blogspot.com/ A wonderful blog by a homeschooling mother of ten children. I get lots of great inspiration there.
-I love your blog. It too provides me with lots of inspiration and good ideas for teaching Young Women’s lessons.
-Lately, I have been spending a lot of time on http://babesinhairland.com/ as I have been trying to learn how to tame my only daughter’s two year old mane!

  3. I would love a study guide on forgiving ourselves and loving ourselves (increasing you sense of self worth).

  4. I know you asked for three but I really only have one and that is pioneer woman. Oh here food and recipes are amazing!!!! I have added you as well to my list so I guess I have two now.

  5. I would love more study guides on Jesus Christ – his birth, mission, atonement, ressureaction, anything.

  6. Three blogs I love:

Beyond Measure – the family has a son with spina bifida (like I do!) and he is several years older than my son so I’m able to see a bit down the road and learn about things like what to look for in a wheelchair, etc. http://themclellands.blogspot.com/

Middle-Aged Mormon Man – funny often but with a core of gospel truth he shares unflinchingly. My husband and I love to read this blog and discuss posts together! http://middle-agedmormonman.blogspot.com/

Large Families on Purpose – Erika is mother to 9 children and writes so many helpful posts about life with a large family. As we’re about to have baby #8 ourselves it’s always wonderful to have someone who has ‘been there’ to chat with. http://www.largefamiliesonpurpose.com/

  7. I think a good topic for study is improving personal prayer and fasting. I struggle with both of these =(

  8. One of my favorite blogs to read is The Craig Report.
    http://thecraigreport.blogspot.com/
Ken writes in such a witty way about life, his family, and personal insights.
Here is a link to some of his Halloween stories–so funny!
    http://thecraigreport.blogspot.com/2011/10/scared-stiff.html

Part time authors is another I enjoy
    http://www.parttimeauthors.com/

    Chocolate covered Katie–healthy desserts
    http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/
This in one of her recipes I want to try
    http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/03/29/copycat-recipe-reeses-peanut-butter-eggs/

  9. Liked Memories by Janae on Facebook and she’s taking photos of the Oakland temple. I can’t wait!!

  10. Liked Stephanie Dibb Sorensen on fb (and I already have her book, but would love to win one to give away!).

  11. I would ♥ to see a study packet about COVENANTS.
What are the covenants we make?
    What do we promise?
What does Heavenly Father promise us?
When/how do we renew those covenants?
I would LOVE to have a little card that I could stick in my church bag of all the covenants I’ve made so I could review that when I take the sacrament.

I just found out last month at a Single Adult Conference that keeping the Sabbath Day holy isn’t just a commandment, it’s a “perpetual COVENANT” (Exodus 31:16)

  12. My 3 favorite blogs are:

Happiness Is Never Stopping To Think If You Are
