New Project…We Need Your Input! The Red Headed Hostess

flowers on the meadow
I have a new project I am working on and I would LOVE your input!

I will tell you about one today, and another tomorrow.

I have always loved shows or specials on people and how they achieved their success and the lessons they have learned along the way.  I find them really inspiring.

So… I thought to myself about the many people we are surrounded with everyday who have their own inspiring stories, and I would LOVE to interview them and share their stories with you.

I have a list of people already, but I would love to hear people that you would like to learn more about.  It could be  an author, performer, blogger, etc.  Just leave their name (and  link if there is one) and I will try and schedule them in.

  1. My suggestion is Mariama Kallon. She is from Sera Leone Africa and had to leave home by herself at age 7. Her family was all killed by rebels in the war that started in the 90’s. She escaped and moved from village to village with only a humanitarian kit she shared with 25 other women. She eventually found the gospel and came here to temple square to serve a mission with what was left of her humanitarian kit and a couple change of clothes. She is amazing and these are just a couple of her experiences. She spoke at a TOFW with Deseret Book and we got a hold of her through them to come speak in our ward. Her story pulls at your heartstrings so have lots of tissues ready. You can see a video of part of her story on LDS.org but she told us so much more in person.

  2. To be honest, I have fallen out of love with your blog. Originally, I frequented it for your spirit and suggestions, now it has become something other than YOU. It is full of commercial-type products and other people. YOUR spirit is missing. Bring YOU back to this site. With a little one, I understand that your time is allotted differently…so maybe not posting as frequently as you used to is in order, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, bring back what I fell in love with about this site – journalling, insight from YOU, sectionalizing, page titles, etc.

  3. I haven’t been reading your blog for very long, so i dont really know what it was like before, but I love your blog now. I love the variety and inspiration I get. 🙂

  4. Hi Shannon,
Pay no attention to those who don’t understand that we all have trials, most of them hidden from view of others who obviously don’t understand.

I would love to see you interview Al Fox. She is a convert from New York who is not your typical “Mormon”. I have found inspiration and an appreciation for our differences after reading her story. She inspired my YW when I was in YW. She has a blog http://www.alfoxshead.blogspot.com
