Yummy Candy Pretzels- The Red Headed Hostess

I made these for a family party — and they were a big hit.

SO easy.  And tons of options.

Like these:

Or these:

Yum.

Here is what you need:

Pretzels.  I used the flat ones that look like little window panes.

And toppings.

Here is a tutorial for each one above:

Preheat your oven to 300 and line your cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper

Lay out your pretzels

For the Chocolate Caramel Pecan Pretzels:

Put a chocolate covered caramel on each pretzel

Put in oven for about 2 minutes.  You just want the chocolate to start looking glossy.  You don’t want it to melt all over.

As soon as they come out, stick a pecan on top of each one (I used candied pecans) and push down so some of the ooey gooey caramel comes out.

Let cool.

For the English Toffee Pretzels:

After you lay out the pretzels put chocolate chips on top of pretzels

Put in oven set at 300 degrees.

Keep in oven till chocolate gets all glossy

As soon as they come out, sprinkle english toffee bits on top of each one and push it into the soft chocolate.

Let cool

For the Reeses Pieces Marshmallow Pretzels:  This was the kids’ favorite

Lay out pretzels

Put 2 mini marshmallows on each pretzel

Put in oven for 1 to 2 minutes.  Just long enough for marshmallow to start poofing up

As soon as they come out, Put 1 chocolate chip on top of each marshmallow and push the chocolate chip down into the marshmallow

Put back into the oven till chocolate chips get soft (2 minutes or so)

As soon as they come out, put 1 Reeses Piece on top of each chocolate chip.  Push down into chocolate

Let cool.

Can you picture all of the many varieties of candies you could use here?

I thought it would be fun to set out a buffet of candies and give people pie tins and let them make their own.

Enjoy!
