Most people picture Moses being sent down the rive Most people picture Moses being sent down the river.

But Exodus says his mother placed him in a prepared ark, in the reeds—
in a place he would be found.

That’s intention. Courage.
And likely personal revelation.

This same inspiration is available to you about each of your children. 🤍

P.S. Comment WEEK 13 and I’ll send you a free scripture marking guide for kids (and beginners!) to help get into the scriptures this week.

✨This week in Come, Follow Me we’re in Exodus ✨This week in Come, Follow Me we’re in Exodus 1–6, a story where following God doesn’t make things easier, at least not at first.

It has been many years since Jacob’s family came to Egypt. Joseph has died. A new Pharaoh is in charge and is worried about how large the children of Israel are becoming.

So he tightens control.
The Israelites’ burdens increase.

And even when Moses steps forward in obedience, things get worse, not better.

You’ve probably felt this before.

Because sometimes following Christ doesn’t immediately remove what we’re carrying.

Sometimes it means stepping forward in trust.

President Jeffrey R. Holland taught:

“To be a follower of Jesus Christ, one must sometimes carry a burden… We follow Him everywhere, including, if necessary, into arenas filled with tears and trouble.”

That is exactly what we see here.

The midwives choose courage.
A mother entrusts her child to God.
Moses accepts a calling he feels unprepared for.

None of them step into ease.
They step forward in trust.

And in the middle of it, God makes a promise:

“I will redeem you… I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God.” (Exodus 6:6–7)

God is not absent in their hardship.
He is already preparing deliverance.

As you study this week, you might consider:

🤍 Where am I being asked to follow Christ, even when it feels heavy?

🤍 What would it look like to trust that God is working, even here?

In Genesis 48, Jacob isn’t just dividing an inhe In Genesis 48, Jacob isn’t just dividing an inheritance. He adopts Ephraim and Manasseh as his own and brings them fully into the covenant family of Israel.

Then he blesses them, not just with inheritance,
but with identity, purpose, and future.

It’s a pattern we still see today.

Patriarchal blessings connect us to the house of Israel
and speak to our place in God’s work.

If you want to study yours more intentionally,
we created a guide:

6 Ways to Study Your Patriarchal Blessing
