In these chapters we have two prophets hundreds of years apart who are both witnessing the entire destruction of their nations due to wickedness. A mighty Jaredite prophet, Ether could not be restrained from prophesying, giving it everything he had to save his people. They may not have listened to his words, but his prophecies on hope and a New Jerusalem are still so valuable to us today.
Seeing our day, Moroni knew that we would need to exercise great faith, and he gives one of the greatest sermons on faith in the Book of Mormon, as well as showing us how to trust in the Lord when we feel overcome with our weakness.
