Jesus Christ can be the strength of our families. Families are a gift from God.

They’re meant to be a place of love, learning, and growth. But they’re also real and imperfect—full of ups and downs, stress, joy, and everything in between.

That’s why we need Jesus at the center. He strengthens us to forgive, to stay kind when it’s hard, and to keep choosing love.

Heavenly Father gave parents the responsibility to teach their children about faith, repentance, baptism, the Holy Ghost, and how to live in a Christlike way.

But I want you [youth and kids] to know—your role matters just as much.

You have a voice and influence in your family. You can be someone who brings peace, who encourages prayer, who reminds your family to invite Christ into everyday life.

When families pray together, study the gospel together, and go to church together, they don’t just grow closer to each other, they grow stronger in Christ.

He becomes the reason you can move forward together, even when things are hard.

No family has it all figured out. But every family can choose to turn to Jesus. I promise that when you do, you’ll feel His peace, His power, and His love in your home.

Have you ever wondered what it really takes to build Zion—especially when life feels hard and complicated?

In September 1831, Joseph and Emma Smith faced immense heartache after losing their own newborn twins.

Yet, amid their grief, they welcomed another set of twins into their home, adopting them after their mother, Julia Murdock, had passed away.

At the same time, Joseph was managing contention and criticism from some of the Saints.

Zion must have seemed impossibly far away.

But in this moment, the Lord reached out with clear guidance (D&C 64). He taught exactly what is required to build Zion—especially when it's hard.

This week, dive into Doctrine & Covenants 64 as a family.

Find the phrases that speak to your heart, write them down, and let your children make signs to remind everyone of what the Lord asks us to do.

Step by step, Zion is built in our hearts and homes.

Moroni exhorts us to “deny not the gifts of God” but to “come unto Christ, and lay hold upon every good gift.”

You can come to Christ with confidence in His loving-kindness and receive all His gifts of joy, peace, hope, light, truth, revelation, knowledge, and wisdom—with your head held high, your arms outstretched, and your hands open, ready to receive.

And you can receive these gifts because you are secure and grounded in the knowledge that you are a beloved daughter of God, you are a cherished son of God, and He has gifted you His perfect, holy Son to redeem you, justify you, and sanctify you.

You are a child of God.

This is not just a nice song we sing.

Will you please accept, open, and receive this gift of knowledge and understanding from Him?

Will you hold it close as the precious treasure it is?
