🌟Perfect back-to-school scripture this week!🌟

In Doctrine and Covenants 85–87, the Saints were struggling to establish Zion. At this critical time, the Lord taught Joseph Smith something powerful: how to recognize and trust the "still small voice."

This verse is perfect as we send our kids back to school and hope they know how to hear the voice of the Spirit.

Here’s something simple you can do with your family this week:

✏️Write out Doctrine and Covenants 85:6.

Then circle words that stand out and define them together (try using Webster’s 1828 Dictionary for accurate definitions from this time period).

Then discuss how each word helps you better understand how to feel and hear the voice of the Spirit.

Keep the paper and bring it out again in the future to review and remember.

“Holy places” aren’t just buildings but they’re the spaces where we invite the Spirit, seek truth, and stand firmly in our faith. 🕊️

Temples, chapels, homes, and stakes of Zion were given to us by the Lord as a refuge from the storm (D&C 115:6), a defense in a world that often feels chaotic.

But preparing for the Lord’s return takes more than casual discipleship.

President Ezra Taft Benson counseled: “You must learn to be guided by the Holy Ghost and the counsel of the living prophet so you will not be deceived.”(“Prepare Yourselves for the Great Day of the Lord,” BYU devotional, April 14, 1981)

This kind of preparation starts in the quiet moments of study, prayer, and listening.

As you study this week, consider:

✨ What makes a place “holy” in your life?

✨ How can you better stand in holy places—physically, spiritually, and emotionally?
