What are My Responsibilities in the Work of the Priesthood? June Come Follow Me

What are My Responsibilities in the Work of the Priesthood?  June Come Follow Me

What a beautiful lesson!  This lesson really emphasizes the partnership between men and women in accomplishing God’s work.  We have provided six learning activities to help you accomplish your goals as you teach your lesson.  Each activity is focused on helping those you teach ponder and learn so that each person can contribute to your lesson and discussion.  There is no way you can accomplish each activity during a single lesson!  We give you choices so you can use what you feel would benefit those you are teaching the most.

These can be used in any of the following ways:

  • Post on social media to your youth to help get them more prepared, excited, and thinking about the lesson.
  • Use their answers in your lesson (they will be more likely to respond to future social media questions if you do this).
  • Ask them to post the question on their personal social media accounts and gather answers themselves (plus they are sharing the Gospel online!).
  • Text or email the picture to your youth and tell them that you are gathering answers for your lesson and ask them to respond.
  • Use as a follow-up to your lesson.  Post the images that will help reinforce what they learned in class.
  • Use to help involve and teach young women who were not at the lesson on Sunday.
  • You can encourage the young women to comment and participate on social media by telling them that every time they comment you will enter their name into a drawing, and then you will draw out one name and they will get a treat.

Instructions:

  • Right click on picture, save to your computer or phone.
  • Email it to yourself if you need to transfer the image from your computer to your phone.  Then open on your phone and save the images to your phone.
  • Post on social media.

What are My Responsibilities in the Work of the Priesthood?  June Come Follow Me

This is a beautiful quote that comes from the Come Follow Me lesson:  What are my responsibilities in the work of the priesthood?  This could be shared before or after your lesson.

If you share it before you could ask this question:  “What are some specific ways that women you know minister to those in need?  I would love to use your comments in my lesson, so please share!”

Or sharing this quote after your lesson is a great reminder to help bring the teachings you discussed back into their minds.

What are My Responsibilities in the Work of the Priesthood?  June Come Follow Me

This picture of Phebe and the following four pictures can be used AFTER your lesson.  As part of our teaching package (What are My Responsibilities in the Work of the Priesthood?  ) there is a study sheet and a board activity where the young women will study these women.  You will discuss how these are great women of influence.  Consider paying special attention to traits we find in these women that we could seek to gain ourselves.  Discuss how gaining those traits would impact our lives, our future, and our families and loved ones.  List everything you talk about on the board and take a picture.  After you talk about them, you could ask the question, “Who are Phebe’s in your life?” – this kind of question helps the principles you have discussed hit home.

After your lesson, share these images and remind them what they said about these women.  You could say, “Let’s try to be like Phebe today” and then list the things you discussed together.
