An Improv Trellis- The Red Headed Hostess

improv
This year I sowed some seeds which I have been baby-ing  for several weeks, and my sweet peas have been begging me to plant them somewhere they can start climbing.  So the other day I wandered around my garage and shed brainstorming ways I could make some kind of climbing apparatus.
And this is what I came up with, the improv trellis:
I found some straight-ish branches on some trees and stuck them in my pot.
And I took some twine and secured them together.  I kind of felt like a girl scout.
Then I planted some colorful annuals in the center.  They should get quite a bit bigger.
Then I wrapped my sweet peas into their new home.  They are purple.
I think this is such a cheerful arrangement – it just makes me happy.  And I can’t wait until there are purple blossoms wound up all over the sticks!
Grow!!!
please.

  1. Your front porch is ABSOLUTELY an apple pie one, and your yard is so beautiful. I have to wonder how in the world you manage to accomplish so many BEAUTIFUL things in your life! You are such an uplift to others. Thank you for your blog, Shannon! Now… I am going to imagine that I am walking up to that front door and smelling the aroma of freshly baked SOMETHING wafting out. 🙂

  2. I love the idea for the trellis, I’m going to try this in my flower garden this spring. Thanks for all your ideas.
