Some of My Favorite Things…
I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for a good recommendation.
So, if you care to hear some of mine… these are things that I can’t live without. Or prefer not to.
Lemi Shine!
This is the sole reason I have bright and shiny dishes. Without this the hard water in my area makes my dishes gross and unacceptable.
I have an idea that many others are on to this secret since it sells out all of the time at my store. This leads to me buying multiple at a time, which is probably what others do as well… which is probably why it is selling out.
Kind of a brilliant marketing plan…
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
I just discovered this little miracle and now I don’t think I will ever be without it.
The other night we were walking around hot and sticky downtown Salt Lake looking for a place to eat before going to Wicked. I mean we were hot and uncomfortable! My mother-in-law looked at me and said “Your shadow is not creasing at all! I need to get some of your stuff.” If we would have had time we would have stopped at Sephora right then and there. The cool thing about this stuff is that it makes cheap-o eye shadow look like something that cost me a lot more than a few bucks AND makes it last all day. It’s name is so appropriate.
Papa Jays Beef Jerky
I get this for my husband at least once a year for some holiday or other. He LOVES this beef jerky! Last Christmas I got him 2 canisters and he wouldn’t let me put them away in the cupboard! He insisted on leaving them out so he could walk past and see them sitting there. It was a sad moment when he ate the last piece.
He prefers the Peppered so that is what I always order, but one of these days I am going to order the mix of all of the flavors to pick MY favorite.
They are made in Clifton, Idaho. Someday we will take a field trip there.
Here is where you can check them out.
Aveda’s Tourmaline Charged Radiance Mask
This is one of my splurges. I have had one of these in my bathroom cabinet consistently for the past ten years. I LOVE this product. It makes my skin glow. Try it. You won’t be sorry.
Anthropologie jewelry
My husband knows that an anthropologie box will make me a very happy wife during any gift giving moment. I have those earrings above in three different colors. I wore a pair of dangling Anthrolopolige earrings for my wedding. Sometimes I just look at their jewelry when I have a spare moment. It makes me happy.
And last…
Loreal Colour Riche Lip Gloss
This is a new product, and I tried it begrudgingly since I couldn’t find my favorite Color Juice Lip Gloss anymore, and I was happy to see that it is pretty much the same thing.
I am extremely picky with my gloss. I like it a certain consistency and it has to last longer than 2 seconds. I used to get Lancome’s Juicy Tubes, but since they are owned by Loreal I decided to try the cheaper option and have been hooked for years.
I currently have Peach Fuzz in my make up bag.
Alright… hopefully you have seen something you would like to try.
And I would love to hear YOUR recommendations! 🙂
Also, check out our Red Headed Hostess website here.
Fun list! I bet I have some boys who would like to try that jerky!
I have a favorites list too! I post mine on pintrest. Two of my favorite things are: Chantecaille rose water and Redmond Salt clay
One of my all-time favorite treats is no longer available. Boo hoo. Fleer’s Double Bubble. America’s Original (tootsie roll?) bought it out and ditched the recipe!
Nice list, and yes, there are several things I am looking forward to trying! My contribution would be Totally Awesome Cleaner. I used to be able to get it at Walmart but they quit carrying it. I went to the website and found out they have it at all the dollar stores, 99 cent stores, etc. This stuff is amazing. I have my own cleaning business and I used it to strip floors recently, worked like a charm, no bad odor and I barely needed to scrub! Then I tried it on the dark spots that show up for some unknown reason on my wicking fabric athletic shirts and voila! Even though they had gone through the washer AND dryer it took the stains out.
I love to try new things!
I discovered Anthropoligie this past Spring, and I have not checked out their jewelry yet. (Another great reason to take a road trip and visit a store.)
My family loves Jerky so we will be trying that too.
Thanks for posting this fun list. I just recently did one on my blog too!
My current favorite treat is the Lindt white chocolate coconut bars.
What a great list – I’m excited to try all of them.
One thing I love to indulge in is the Target brand, Archer Farms Belgium Chocolate Ice Cream. It even has little flecks of chocolate in the ice cream! If you’re a chocolate lover, you will have to give it a try.
Our family’s favorite thing at the moment is Wild Coyote Ranch Dressing. It was being sampled at Walmart one time when we were there and it was amazing. I have not gone back to hidden valley since then. It’s a bit spendy and is found in the refrigerator section with the other dressings. For the small jar it’s about $6.99 (and worth every penny) but now Macey’s carries it in the bulk 1 gallon container for $18 ish. MUCH better deal to buy in bulk. I think the company is out of St.George. Small company, great product.
Shannon,
Your favorites are all items new to me, so I am excited to try them! My 2 favorite kinds of body wash are C.O. Bigelow Lemon Creme Body Wash from Bath and Body Works–Smells divine and is gentle, as long as you are not allergic to sunflower oil–they often have a special of buy 2 get one free. The other I just recently discovered is at LUSH. It is their Buffy Bar. It is an all natural soap made with ground almonds to exfoliate and the most amazing cocoa butter that leaves your skin super soft for at least 24 hours afterwards! They also make one with just the cocoa butter that is great too. LUSH just recently opened a store in SLC at Fashion Place Mall. They are also at various malls throughout the country.
Where do you get the Lemi Shine? I have had some major problems with hard water stains on my glasses and dishes and have been searching for something to resolve the problem with no luck! Love all your ideas:)
Nevermind I found some at Wal-Mart..Thanks for all the great ideas. I’m going to try it out!
My one recommendation that took me hours of watching beauty videos on YouTube to find is the SecheVite fast drying top coat. I have four children under the age of 7. I never use to give myself a manicure and I didn’t bother getting one done because it never lasted. But this stuff is a miracle product. You can buy it at the drugstore and it dries your polish within seconds! Definitely a MUST for a busy momma like me! XO
