Children Old Testament Study Pages and Learning Activities

These are tons of great printable study pages for children. They don't just learn the stories but also tons of study techniques! They work for ages 8 and up - even great for teenagers!

After countless emails asking me to produce more things for primary age kiddos – we have finally done it!

We have come up with learning packages for the Old Testament!  We have three packages so far and many more coming!  Each package has three to four lessons in it – and some lessons have a learning activity and group activity.  These are really great for family scripture study and family home evening!

These have been carefully designed to not only teach the valuable stories and doctrines but to also teach critical skills to help your children to become more confident and able to understand the scriptures.  These packages are designed to help your children discover the stories and doctrines themselves!  🙂

Each set of lessons come with a sheet of teaching suggestion that also highlights the specific skills that are being learned.  Such as:

– scripture comprehension (the ability to understand what the scriptures are saying)
– learning to look up words they don’t understand
– use of study helps (such as the Bible Dictionary and Footnotes)
– visualization of scripture stories
– etc.

These are good for ages 8 and up (even your teenagers!).  Your younger children will need you to stand by and help them through the activities as they learn all of the skills they need.  These can be great experiences for you as you realize the strengths and abilities your child has along with the areas they need some help with.

These are also a natural fit for primary lessons.

Here are what some of them look like:

Children learning activities for learning about when Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac

This lesson is part of package #3.  There is a personal learning activity and a group/family activity.

The personal activity helps teach about when Abraham and Sarah found out they were going to have a baby, and focuses on the skill of scripture comprehension (understanding what the scriptures are saying).  So if you have children that have a hard time understanding scripture language – that is what these activities are designed for!

In the group activity you will build an altar as your children answer questions about when Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac.  So your kids search in the scriptures to find the answers so they can put on the next rock or stick.  The questions are there for you, with the references and an occasional tidbit of information to help teach your children understand the question.

These packages are full of things like that.

Pages to help teach your children about the creation and Adam and Eve! *LDS doctrine

Here are a few pages from package #1.

This package has lessons for the Creation, Adam and Eve and The Law of Sacrifice.

These packages focus on teaching your kids to look up words they don’t understand, scripture comprehension and using the Bible Dictionary.

You can find this package HERE.  There are lots more pictures there too.

Study and learning activities to teach your kids about Enoch, Noah, Abraham and the Abrahamic Covenant! Great for primary or family home evening!

This is package #2

This package has lessons for Enoch and the City Zion, Noah, Abraham and the Abrahamic Covenant.

You can find this package (and more pictures) HERE.

Children study and learning activities for Abraham and Lot, when Sarah bore Isaac, when Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac and Isaac and Rebekah. Great for FHE or primary!

This is package #3.

This package has lessons for Abraham and Lot, when Sarah bore Isaac, when Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac and the marriage of Isaac and Rebekah.

Lots of skills taught in these packages!  🙂

  1. Are you going to continue to create study pages for more Old Testament lessons? I certainly hope you do as I discovered these study aids too late to be able to use them for my lessons. I am hoping to be able to purchase a set for the those lessons coming up.

  2. I am also wondering if you have any more study pages/activities for the Old Testament lessons. I teach the 9-year-old Primary class in my ward and could use some ideas to make the lessons more interactive for the children. Thanks.

  3. I am looking for a Book of Mormon study set for Elementary aged kids. We home school and I would LOVE to use it with my daughter this coming school year. Homeschooling is a market you should try to sell to. Many of us HAVE to show religious teaching as part of our guidelines. So We want LDS products. My daughter is 9 able to read on her own but I need to help her dig deeper and find the application and make connections to the stories she already knows.

Would LOVE to see more Old Testament pages as well. She is doing this in primary this year. I have an upcoming lesson on David and Jonathan would love to see something on that.
