2 Kings 17-25
These chapters are some of the most important to understand in the whole of the Old Testament. God’s covenant people, whom He has loved and guided and delivered so many times, are taken captive and carried away. The kingdom is divided and they are scattered.
Once we understand these events, we can understand the context for future books in the Bible, particularly the prophecies of Isaiah. We will understand why the prophets of that time looked forward to our day with such hope. We will see the backdrop for Lehi and his sorrow and desire to warn the people. Above all we will begin to understand why the gathering of Israel is so important, and why we are so vital in that work.
