Doctrine and Covenants 135-136  Scripture  Study and Activity Kit.  (November 22-28)

This week we will learn about two very important events:

–  The martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith (D&C 135)

–  The saints leaving Nauvoo and going to Salt Lake (D&C 136)

Do not miss the original art this week, it is so special.  It depicts W.W. Phelps, a friend to Joseph, writing the words to the hymn “Praise to the Man.”  The artist Heidi Carter, imagined how difficult this must have been for W.W. Phelps and showed him struggling to capture the words that captured who Joseph was and what had just happened to him by a mob.  The art also depicts some of the  priceless gifts that Joseph left behind – including the Book of Mormon, revelations, and the temple.

Doctrine and Covenants 135-136 for ADULTS

1.
