In these chapters we find the Israelites living among a people who did not worship the God of Israel. In many ways we find ourselves in a similar society. Influenced by the beliefs of the Canaanites, the Israelites broke their covenants and turned away from the Lord.
But the Lord didn’t turn away from them. He called 12 judges to to help deliver Israel, physically and spiritually. There are many things to learn from the mistakes of the Israelites, the most important of which is the beautiful reality that the Lord stands ever ready to forgive us and deliver us.
