Right now, we’re in the middle of incredible stories unfolding in two places: Kirtland and Missouri.
Saints traveling between these locations faced journeys lasting weeks—even months—by foot, wagon, and water. 🚶♂️🐎🚣♀️
At this moment, Joseph Smith and other leaders faced a challenging, tense trip home from Zion.
But in a beautiful, perfectly-timed moment, Joseph and his traveling companions unexpectedly crossed paths with another group of missionaries—including Joseph’s brother, Hyrum.
This was a joyful moment for all of these weary souls.
Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong taught, “[God] knows not only the details of our lives. God knows the details of the details of the details of our lives.”
At this time, the Lord reassured these weary missionaries that their faithful actions caused angels in heaven to rejoice! (D&C 62:3)
President Eyring once lovingly carved “Angels Rejoice Over You” onto wood for his son as a reminder that heaven sees and celebrates our efforts.
