If you've ever wanted to better understand Zion—and how your family can be part of building it—this week's study is just what you are looking for.

Doctrine & Covenants 58–59 tells the powerful story of the first Saints arriving at Zion’s "center place" in Jackson County, Missouri.

Last week, we learned about the Colesville Saints who, after being unexpectedly displaced from their new homes in Kirtland, found themselves among the first to set foot in Zion.

Can you imagine that?

As you study this week:

✅️ Look for specific instructions from the Lord on how Zion is to be built, both spiritually and physically.

✅️ Find and discuss the promised blessings for those who faithfully work to establish Zion.

✅️ Pay special attention to the teachings about honoring the Sabbath day in D&C 59.

✅️ You might also reflect as a family on the inspiring example of Polly Knight, whose greatest desire was to stand upon the land of Zion—and who persevered until she fulfilled that wish.

Listen to President Henry B. Eyring’s promises in his October 2020 General Conference talk, especially how women and families will play a crucial role in building Zion.

Imagine a book called the Book of Life—and your

Imagine a book called the Book of Life—and your name is written in it.

Every kind word, good choice, and Christlike action you make is recorded there.

But when we mess up—and we all do—those things are written too.

Mistakes.

Regrets.

Sins.

The good news is this: when we repent, Jesus doesn’t just cross out our sins, He completely removes them.

They’re gone.

In this artwork, you can see those words—the wrong choices—lifting off the page and turning into light.

It’s symbolic of what happens when we sincerely repent.

Jesus remembers them no more.

Repentance isn’t just about saying, “I’m sorry.”

It’s about feeling godly sorrow, turning to God, trying to make things right, and changing our direction.

And it’s not always easy.

But Jesus is with us every step of the way.

When we repent, it’s like the weight we’ve been carrying lifts off.

The guilt, the heaviness is replaced with peace and light.

Not because we’re perfect, but because He is.

I know that Jesus Christ is full of mercy.

He doesn’t shame us for our past.

He offers us a new beginning.

Every time.

That’s the miracle of repentance.

That’s the miracle of His grace.
