Come with me to my garden! 🌿

Over the past several summers, I have learned some tips about properly pruning and caring for my tomatoes.

At first, I didn’t see immediate results and it seemed painful to chop remove growing stems, but now I can see how the pruning truly works.

In the past two weeks, the growth just took off! My tomato plants are now producing more fruit than I’ve ever seen before. 🍅🍅🍅

As I studied Doctrine and Covenants 81–83, I realized this is exactly what the early Saints were experiencing—hardship, careful pruning, specific direction, and preparation for incredible growth.

✨ Here’s an idea for your family scripture study this week:

Write out Doctrine & Covenants 81:5 word for word. Circle key words and define them (hint: the Webster’s 1828 Dictionary is perfect for seeing the meaning these words had at the time Joseph received this revelation).

Write these definitions around your scripture, and then brainstorm all the simple, everyday ways you and your family can act upon these inspired words.
