Here’s more of President Eyring’s beautiful counsel:

“We need, and you will need, the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. Now, we desire it, yet we know from experience that it is not easy to achieve. We each think and say and do things in our daily lives that can offend the Spirit.

“When that happens, as it will, we may feel disapproval from the Lord. And we may be tempted to feel we are alone. It is important to remember the sure promise we receive each week as we repent and partake of the sacrament: “That they may always have his Spirit to be with them.”

“If you have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost today, you may take it as a sweet evidence that the Atonement is working in your life.”

Have you ever stopped to think what happened because one man stood up for what was right?

Because of Abinadi’s courage in sharing truth, the future of the Nephite nation was forever changed:

▸ Alma listened and believed Abinadi’s testimony.

▸ Alma ends up secretly teaching many Nephites what Abinadi had taught. They are converted and baptized.

▸ Later, Alma will end up in Zarahemla and will be a prophet.

▸ Alma’s son, Alma the Younger, will also become a prophet.

▸ Alma’s grandson, Helaman, will also become a prophet and lead the 2,000 stripling warriors into battle.

▸ Alma’s great-great grandsons, Nephi and Lehi will be great Nephite missionaries.

▸ Alma’s great-great-great grandsons, Nephi and Timothy, will live when Christ comes to the Nephites and they will be two of Christ’s chosen 12 disciples.

We never know the effect we can have on others when we share our testimonies!

I speak to women all the time that WANT to be in their scriptures, but get discouraged when life is busy.

Perhaps it matters a lot less where or when we study, but that we do it consistently.

Presiden Eyring has said:

“The only way you can be sure that a busy schedule doesn’t crowd out scripture study is to establish a regular time to study the scriptures.

“I have found that the beginning of the day and the end of the day are mine. Those are times I can usually control.

“So my pattern since I was a boy has been to read my scriptures at the beginning and end of the day. I read the Book of Mormon many times before I was 18 because of that pattern.”

Over the years I have had different routines. It used to be at night before bed, then early in the morning. For a time it was during my lunch break then it became during nap time. Now I like to do it in my daughter’s room so she can study at the same time and see my efforts.

Is there a time in your day that you have set aside some time to be with the Lord in the scriptures?
