Book of Mormon: Helaman 7-12

In the Come, Follow Me Book of Mormon schedule for  Helaman 7-12, we learn many great lessons about prophets and revelation.  We can learn how the Lord works through his prophets and we can see parallels to our day with how he has worked through our prophet now.  There is so much to learn in the Book of Helaman and there are so many things that we can relate to our day.  These chapters cover the immediate time frame leading up to the coming of Christ.  With us living in the latter days and with us looking towards Christ’s Second Coming, there are many things to learn about good and evil in these chapters.

The Come, Follow Me curriculum from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is meant to get individuals and families directly into the scriptures.  The Come, Follow Me the schedule provided by the Church covers every chapter in the Book of Mormon.  The Church wants us to read every chapter, especially as parents teaching your children. Henry B. Eyring said, “Casual prayer won’t be enough.  Reading a few verses of the scriptures won’t be enough.  Doing the minimum of what the Lord asks of us won’t be enough.  Hoping that we will have the Atonement work in our lives and that we will perhaps sometimes feel the influence of the Holy Ghost won’t be enough.  And one great burst of effort won’t be enough.  Only a steady, ever-lasting effort will allow the Lord to take us to higher ground.”.  The Come, Follow Me program introduced in 2019 is perfectly timed to strengthen the Lord’s Church at just the right time.  As we see the modern day chaos and upheaval unfold each day, we can now see how inspired the timing of the Come, Follow Me program is.

Making the scriptures a part of your heart takes effort.  It requires more than a casual reading, more than scanning a few verses, and more than pushing ‘play.’  It requires study and effort. We here at The Red Headed Hostess provide resources and material to help you make the most of your scripture study efforts both personally and with your family.  We offer resources for adults, teens, older children and younger children in each weekly kit we make.  Our weekly kits coincide with the Come, Follow Me schedule provided by the Church and follow the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual.  Because of all the various items for all age groups we offer in each kit, our kits are also very popular among Gospel Doctrine teachers, Seminary teachers, Sunday School teachers, and Primary teachers.  Each kit has plenty of options to choose from, and there is an average of 150 hours put into creating each kit.  Our staff is made up of current and retired full-time seminary and institute teachers who have had years of professional training on how to effectively teach the Gospel.  You can be confident that you will find something or multiple items in each kit that you want to use with your personal study and with your family.  Keep reading below to see what comes in the Helaman 7-12 kit.

HELAMAN 7-12 STUDY PAGES

The Study Pages found in each kit are the foundation of every kit we make.  These are for adults’ personal scripture study.  They are also great for teens and should be the main items your teens use from each kit.  Out of all the things we include in just a single kit, the Study Pages are what we recommend you use every week.  These are designed to give you insights, tips, and relevant quotes to the chapters being covered so that you are confident with knowledge and talking points for when you teach your family.  All of the other items and activities in our kits are based on what is in the Study Pages.  Reading these each week will give you better understanding on what you might want to use with your family from the other items in the Helaman 7-12 kit.  These Study Pages are the favorite item in each of our kits.  Many of our subscribers, even with no kids at home and not having a need for many of the other items we provide, subscribe to get access to our Study Pages.  Because of the very low price of our subscription, even using only one item, such as the Study Pages, is still worth the cost.

WHERE TO FIND ACTIVITIES FOR LDS PRIMARY LESSONS?

HELAMAN 7-12 ACTIVITY PAGES

The items in the Helaman 7-12 Activity Pages include things for older children, younger children, and teens.  Adults will often find things useful for them as well, even if it looks like it might be designed for a younger age.  We give you a lot of options to choose from based on the ages in your family.  Each kit is large enough that you will not likely have time to do every item in each kit.   Our intent is to provide you options as a parent and teacher to choose from what you think will work best for you, and then print only those items.  Printing specific items instead of the entire kit will also save you on ink and paper.  There are even things that can easily be used on your iPad or tablet if you are sensitive to how much you use your printer.  Our files come as PDF’s so they can be used with any computer or mobile device.  Below are some of the items you will find in our Activity Pages.

BEDTIME STORIES

In each kit, there are Illustrated Stories that we call “Bedtime Stories.”  Each page has illustrations and easy-to-understand captions that kids can follow and understand.   There are also great discussion questions for older and younger children that parents can use to talk about what they are learning.  These can be printed or they can also be used on an iPad or tablet.  These are popular because they are versatile.  These are a great way to have a quick 5-minute lesson at bedtime or during morning scripture study, or they can be used as part of your more involved study of the scriptures.

SCRIPTURE MARKING GUIDE

Our Scripture Marking Guide for kids is also a very popular item.  It is an easy print-and-go activity that you can have your children working during scripture study.  If your child can read, they can do these marking guides.  Each guide walks your child step-by-step with suggested markings as they learn important doctrines and principles found in the scriptures they are working on.  Each step has a reason behind it; these are not simply busywork that makes your child’s scriptures look interesting.  They will learn study skills and Gospel principles that they will use their entire lives.

HOW TO GET OUR WEEKLY KITS

You can get our kits two different ways.  You can purchase individually as needed for $4.00 each from THIS section of our website, or you can subscribe for $10.00 per month.  The more popular option is the subscription because it is a considerable savings compared to getting each kit individually.  With the subscription, each kit averages out to be slightly less that $2.50 each.  You can read more about how our subscription works by clicking the image below.

SUBSCRIPTION BONUSES

Adding value to what we offer to subscribers is a priority of ours.  In addition to our low pricing, we offer free bonus files throughout the year.  There is a section within subscriber accounts dedicated to free bonus files.  The files we include are items on our website that would otherwise need to be purchased individually or often items that are only available to subscribers.  Another free bonus we offer is a streaming video series called “Drawn In” by David Bowmen.  These videos are meant for kids but are also very entertaining to teens and adults.  They are a great supplement to your more in-depth study of the Book of Mormon.  Click the image below to learn more about “Drawn In.”
