Next week's chapters have some of my favorite scri Next week's chapters have some of my favorite scriptures of all time in them. Can you imagine how Joshua felt to have to step into Moses' shoes? The Lord's reassurance to Joshua is one I have turned to again and again - "As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

Above all these chapters are yet one more reminder that on the days when our challenges seem as tall and impenetrable as the walls of Jericho, when we obey Him with exactness, the Lord can fight all of our battles with us and for us.

- Have you tried the This or That quizzes that go along with a video? We have another one for you this week and I love them because they are simple to prepare but keep your child engaged as they learn or review the story with the video.

- Each week we have new art for you to display in your home to help your family focus on what they're learning. We also give you lots of ideas of ways you can use the art to teach from. Don't miss the questions on the teen and children's table posters - they can open up some beautiful discussions.

- For something more involved try this fun salt dough craft! The ingredients are things you probably already have, just flour, salt and water. You can make the dough and then follow the outline to make a map of the Holy Land. If you want to print out the little flags you'll need toothpicks to stick them in your map. As well as being a fun activity, this is a really tactile way to help your children prepare to understand what it meant that the 12 tribes were scattered and what gathering the tribes looks like today.

If you're a subscriber, all of this is waiting in your kits. Login and download today!

If you're not a monthly subscriber you can buy this week's kit on our website- just go to 'Shop > Come Follow Me > Old Testament'.

A friend of mine is an early-morning seminary teac A friend of mine is an early-morning seminary teacher and he is always asking for more games in the kits! There's something about teenagers at 6am that needs a touch of variety and fun to wake them up.

If your family or class responds well to games then this is a fun one that will be a great way to review the past few weeks of study.

Head to the "Learning Through Fun" section of the kit where you will find all the trivia questions. Just print them and cut them out. If a player gets the answer right they can take a turn tossing a coin into a small jar or bowl inside a much bigger tub of water. You can make it as hard or easy as you like by how small the jar is and how far away they have to stand. The person with the most coins in the jar wins!

And if you want to keep playing, don't be afraid to repeat the same questions. Repetition (along side fun!) is a great way to learn.

Do you use the games in the kits? I'd love to know which ones have worked well for you!
Have you ever noticed how it can be easier to look Have you ever noticed how it can be easier to look to the Lord when things are hard? When things are going well, it can be human nature to coast along a little, and gradually our prayers lose their urgency and our focus shifts from God to ourselves.

Some of Moses's final words to the Israelites were a pleading for them to not forget what the Lord had done for them in the wilderness. He knew prosperity lay ahead and was worried they would forget that it was the Lord who had blessed them.

"And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness..."

"An Israelite who constantly remembers would always remember that the Lord led them in the wilderness for 40 years, that when they were hungry He gave them manna, that their clothing lasted those 40 years, and that their health was preserved.

"Imagine what would happen if all of the Israelites always remembered this, for generations upon generations. What if for hundreds or thousands of years, the Israelites all remembered the covenant made with Abraham, and they all knew how the Lord had delivered them and provided for them and their ancestors. This is why we must know these stories - for we are Israelites." (From this week's study pages)

How do you remember these stories? Or your own manna and Red Sea moments?
Here's an activity from this week's 'More Ideas' p Here's an activity from this week's 'More Ideas' page to give your family scripture study an extra dose of fun!

Take your scriptures outside and grab some sidewalk chalk. Choose some of your favorite scriptures from this week's chapters to make into chalk art, and then next to the scripture, draw some ways your family can LIVE the principle being taught.

It's great for all ages and your children will LOVE being outside and having a change of scene for family study!

I'm curious, is it warm enough to do this where you are yet?
